PSP Question

Hi, if I put a 6V adaptor into a PSP which is supposed to use 5V, will that damage the PSP? I've used a stronger strength adapter on other things before I think that worked but this isnt mine so I just thought I'd check first.

I have used one, no probs so far... (It was from america)

With 6 volts going into it...would that make the display brighter ???.
