Hello,

I have a PS3 and i want to get the official PS3 remote. I was thinking though, can a PSP be used as a remote control and can anyone show me any screen shots of how it works?

Do you use the psp buttones for various things or does it have a program and you select whichever action, play, stop etc

Something else is, can i control anything else, lights maybe, tv and what not?

What other pros does having a PS3/PSP have?

Thanks

You cant do what you want to do with the PSP.

Thats not ruling it out in the future though. At the moment with the latest firmware update you can use your PSP to control your music through your PS3 and get it to output audio from the PS3.

So thats kinda like using it as a remote.

Hit my blog link, I made a post about what can be done with the PSP/PS3 :)

The PSP can turn your PS3 on (via your LAN or via the Internet). Once it is on you are sort of remote controlling the PS3 (think like a very very basic VNC /RA/RDP/PCAnywhere on a PC).

I sense you want to use it like one of these Logitech/Harmony remotes which let you control all sorts of IR/RF/BT devices. The PS3 won't do that.
