PSP randomly shutting down - HELP!

Just developed an annoying problem with my PSP 1000.

Sometimes, about 1-in-4, when I go to start an event in Gran Turismo (much better than I expected by the way

), my PSP will freeze for a few seconds, then shut down.

Flick the power switch and all restarts fine, get back into the game, then after about 4 events the PSP will repeat the freeze and shut down.

Borked console? Playing the game from the memory stick, so not a UMD problem. Been fine for last 2/3 weeks, so doubt it's the game.

Is it only with GT? Are you using custom firmware?

Only with GT as far as I know, all I've got installed right now. Standard FW (6.0), never dabbled in the custom PSP scene tbh.

Right, blew the console out with an air gun, and then it ran fine with no probs for the last hour. Just started to freeze/switch off again now.

Always happens as I confirm entering a race/event.

Bought it pre-owned from a high street store, and it came with a 12 month guarantee. Do you think this sort of thing would be covered? Any help would be much appreciated.

Mmm, think it may be a glitch with the game itself, rather than my PSP playing up.

Ran GTA VC for a half hour or so, no probs, then I tried GT again, but just doing races, still no problems. Go back to doing drift events, lo and behold, a freeze and reboot on the forth event :eek:

Odd problem, but makes me feel better
