PSP UMD Drive

Well after not using it for a long time (years?) I decided to start using it again the other day only to find it won't read UMD's properly, it spins up fine, but a clicking (like seeking) can be heard from the laser, the motor is spinning up fine and the laser is glowing red.

Is there a simple fix or might I just as well buy another?

Not sure how to fix your issue I'm afraid.

But I would just like to say that I find the UMD drives can't be relied on. The first one I ever got stopped working within a week as it wouldn't read. The second eventually somehow wouldn't shut anymore (though I took really good care of it). The third seems fine and has run for a couple of years now, always worried it's gonna go though!

Have to say I still prefer them to the later PSPs that were D/L only.
