PSP worth it?

If you don't intend to use the PSP while travelling and such and are just gonna use it while in the house, buy a lovely little Slimline PS2 instead. It has a brilliant catalogue of games.

I stuck a few of my PSX games on my PSP and all I would call it is a novelty, ePSXe is so so superior.

In mine and many others opinion PSX games look much better on the small PSP screen than they do on a monitor/TV

Some games do look better because the small screen disguises the lower res textures better, but i'd rather play the game on a big screen with a joypad than focus on the small screen and use the PSP controls.

As I said, brilliant kit for use while travelling, offers no improvement for using in the house.

I bought a PSP shortly after launch, sold it about 4 months later and then recently bought one again with a view to bringing it abroad for the summer (I have a 360 and a gaming PC). I find I use a lot at home, it's great while half-watching TV - I'm hooked on Snooker 2007 at the moment. Some other games I've enjoyed include Tiger Woods 2007, Virtua Tennis, Daxter and Metal Gear Portable Ops

I use my PSP at home quite often - usually because the mrs or my nipper are watching the tele though and I dont want to kick them off!

At home, work, travelling etc. I've also got other consoles and a PC but I still play PSP at home. It's nice to play while half watching TV with the mrs or sitting in the garden etc.
Do newer PSPs have better screens then? My launch PSP was impossible to use outside, even on a relatively dim day :(

Don't know about newer ones mate, mines a PSP1000. I can use it outside in the shade but usually need to crank it up to 4th brightness level and angle it so that something dark is reflecting in it. It's not great but OK for puzzle games and such.
