Hi,

I've got a ton of PST's here which have been left dormant for a while, they'll be added back to user accounts soon.

Is there a built in or freeware tool that will quickly allow me to do the equivalent of Outlook's Comact Now function.

Outlook 2007 PST files

I have no answer to your question at all, but instead I'm going to ask why you're using PST files at all.

They are horrible horrible things, do you lack the budget for proper archiving or is there another reason? Spend some time now to eliminate the things and live forever in perfect bliss.

The only freeware version I can think of will do compression, but not of attachments. Which isn't really that helpful (unless you are lucky and attatchments aren't a requirement)

Unless you have some sort of $$$ to put towards this, you may have difficulties trying to find software that is decent (I've tried in the past).

They're not 'my' files, work related for multiple users.

Not sure about bulk compacting but in earlier versions of Outlook, used to use a regkey PSTNullFreeOnClose which compacts when Outlook is closed. Just refreshing my memory, found this article which mentions something about needing SP2 on Outlook 2007 otherwise it won't work.

Might be worth testing it, if there's a delay in closing down, some users may force shutdown and corrupt it!
