We currently have 5 PSTN lines served by one telephone number (BT refer to them as auxiliary lines I believe). We also have an ISDN line.

In short, we'd like to move the number currently residing on the PSTN line over to ISDN with minimal fuss.
The number currently assigned to the ISDN line is not needed.

Possible? :)

This should be possible.

It's not guaranteed as the numbers need ti be served from the same exchange, etc.

Just tell BT that you want to migrate your existing PSTN number as a single number DDI on the ISDN circuit.

Consider how many ISDN's you have (I'm assuming you have ISDN2 and not ISDN30, but the concept is the same). Iif you only have 1 ISDN2 circuit, then you've got 2 lines (channels) and you'll be reducin gthe number of lines you have. Make sure you have enough ISDN channels for your requirements.

I'm also assuming these PSTN & ISDN channels are connected to a PABX (telephone system). Make sure you have spare capacity on the PABX for any additional ISDN2 circuits and you have someone available to reprogram it to receive % route the single number DDI.

If you need more info, post any questions you have here. I'll try to help you.

Badger, thanks for the tips but I actually managed to speak to someone in BT Local Business with half a clue (first time ever) and so I think I got this under control now!
