Hi All,

I have been building out a PC with Bitfenix Prodigy mITX case, Asus Maximus VI Impact Mobo, Haswell i7. I have purchased the Silverstone Gold Strider 650W which is a good fit for the case.

The motherboard has a 24 pin female connector but the PSU cable is 20 pin?? I did not realise power supplies had these types of connectors. Anyway, shall I plug it in, turn on the power and see what happens or find a different cable or do I have to find a new PSU?

Will it be OK? I appreciate any help!

Thanks in advance

That psu should have a 4 pin plug attached to the same lead as the 20 pin. Plug them both together for the 24 pin plug.

Thanks for the quick answer

There is also an 8pin EATX next to the 24 pin plug - sorry for my ignorance but what what goes in there? I have a 4 + 4 pin ATX 12V connector cable (two heads) - do they go in the 8 pin EATX?

Thanks

Yes. The 8 pin (4+4) would normally go to the top left corner of the board but your board being M-itx, is next to the 24 pin socket. This provides the power for the cpu.
