Hello gents,

I have a PSU, Xilence XP500 500w, which was recently bought in Germany. Can it power a system which includes an i5 4460, gtx 770, 1 ssd and 1 hdd? No OC.
I've tried finding some info but most of the relevant hits seem to be in German..

Thanks.

I would say that psu is garbage. It's built for Xilence by a company that I have never even heard of (Huizhou Xin Hui Yuan Tech) and only came with a 2 year warranty in the EU (1 year everywhere else). It has a weak 12v rail of only 360w which is pathetic for a 500w psu these days. Do yourself a favour and buy something decent. Take a look at these:-

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA Supernova GS 550W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £64.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59.99
1 x SuperFlower FX 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply - Black £49.99

It's not my rig but I have to find a way to make it work.. The PSU was bought along with the i5 through an apparently 'amazing' deal (180 euros for both of them).

I have two options now, a second hand 770(what are the odds of the system getting wrecked because of that PSU?) or a new 960.

I reckon the lower power requirements of the 960 is the safer (better?) option?

I wouldn't touch that psu with a bargepole. In my opinion the best place for it is the bin. Sorry but I am not recommending any card to use with it. If it goes bang and takes other components with it it could come back to me for saying it would be ok with whatever card.
