So I was just wondering what components use the +5v rail. I am currently sitting at 18 watts idle and 28 watts while gaming on the +5v rail. When i unplug my mouse, keyboard, wireless headset docking station/receiver and usb powered 7 inch system performance monitor it drops to 13 watts idle, yet still increases 8-10 watts underload. Anyone know?

There is no concise answer to that and will depend on the motherboard and other devices you have connected i.e. storage devices will often use 3.3V and/or 5V but may take 3.3V directly from the PSU or have their own regulated 3.3V using the PSU 5V rail, etc.
