will this be enough for a future GTX 300, because i'm presuming that this card wont be consuming too much more power than a GTX 295

Depends if it's a quality branded 700w psu or a cheap and nasty unbranded psu "pretending" to be 700w when it can only put out a fraction of that and will blow your house to pieces when it blows up. :D

i just checked, a single GTX 295 is pulling about 460 w under full load, so lets say that a GTX 300 pulls about 500 w....

so a 650w quality PSU will be futureproof............AS LONG AS I DONT GO SLI

this means i get that ``be quiet`` PSU for 95 quid..

but i dont want to drop the power any further, it's nice to have a bit extra

It doesn't work quite like that, since the GTX295 is two cards turned into one. So as a result it'll have a power draw similar to two GPUs, also not all cards draw more power when they are released, since they are running on smaller fab processes.

However even if you had a monster overclock on an i7 and loads of HDs etc then a 620W would be ample :)

snip

as above it doesnt work like that, also, a 295 does not draw 460w under load (on its own) since the msot ive ever got my system to draw is around 960, and thats from the wall not what the psu is deloivering, so take into account 85% efficiency and thats only 816w, and thats with everything else laoded, and prime on 3 cores (1 core being used for furmark)
