Hi, I have a Corsair AX750 which I bought last year but only recently got around to trying to "tidy" up cabling in my Haf X. I've ran into a little issue with the 8 pin power cable being far too short to route through the back over to the top.

I've tried using an old extension that I had but it would load up properly, I would just hear the fans running at 100% continuously without booting windows up. I'm assuming it's a faulty extension. I'm wondering if Corsair might be able to provide a longer cable for it (currently had a 600mm from the looks of it), or should I just buy one of these and try it out?

Would this be the right one though?

Cheers.

I have a HAF X and it came with one. You sure you've not got it somewhere?

If not then yes, that'll be fine :)

My XFX PSU was about an inch too short to reach round the back and through the gap and back round onto the 8 pin socket :(

So now I have got about 30cm of cable stashed behind the motherboard mounting panel which I could have done without.

Yeah thats the "old" extension I was on about :P, not working properly leading to the above.

Argh, I'll get that one I linked then see if it works else its back to front side hanging :(

It's possible you may have used an 8 pin PCI (Graphics Card) extension? I don't know if they are wired differently than the motherboard ones? But the one you linked is a motherboard one, so should do fine!

:edit: if you got it with the case, I would ignore everything I've just said :p

I thought it was but wasn't sure :p

Agree - does sound like the extension is knackered then if it's fine when plugged in directly.

Hah, oh well gonna buy that one and see how it works in a couple days, 680 isnt arriving until end of this week / next anyway so no real rush.

D'oh!, bought the one I linked above yesterday and its been shipped, then Corsair replied today and they shipped one for free too, could have saved myself a wee bit oh well at least I'll have a spare!
