PSU Advice - Long & Quiet & Efficient Enough

Looking for some advice please on new purchase in the next month or so. (in uk from ocuk)

for [email protected],1xGTX970,10x5400rpm sata (in 3,3,4 configuration),1xSSD,Asus X99-S,Cosmos II Case (V. Large Case), Air Cooling.

Priorities are (highest to lowest) Lowest Noise, Value (over 10 Years), Efficiency @ low loads, Price (Over 10 Years)...and that that the cables eg, ATX fit neatly around the back of board (ie are long)..Warranty (albeit it does go to value somewhat)

The server/gaming pc is on 24/7 and estimated to consume 75W at idle (it never sleeps), a state which it is 75% of time.

I entered the hardware into http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

and 530 Watts is recommended.

What PSUs would people recommend please?

points im musing over are...
Do i have to buy more Watts to get more quiet. looking for as close to silence at idle as possible and quiet at load.
Am i right to think more Watts is less efficient..Eg a 750W PSU would be 10% utilised @ idle which equates to a poor efficiency rating on PSU (unless titatium rated), a 1KW would be even less efficient (as even lower load at idle).
Am i right not to worry about how many sata cables come with unit, i can buy a 4 port extension for £5.
Needs to not exacerbate 970 coil whine.

thank you

The warranty is nice to have for sure, but is my lowest priority....
Any more quiet psus out there? or is the EVGA the best for no/low noise...
Anything as good with less watts (for greater efficiency at low loads)

thanks...

suggests that the atx spec requires a fan in psu, and not having one might just mean more cooling/noise elsewhere, recommending fanless only for low power systems. So given this this have a somewhat meaty gpu in it and 10hdds, i will steer clear of fanless and look at a psu with a dynamic fan profile...

i would like to get a psu rated for 600w / high efficiency at 75W load, but the recommendations are all a bit bigger...but perhaps this is where the quality is.

thanks for advice

the sf leadex 650w looks interesting....a bit nervous that one of the ocuk customer reviews say power cable is only just long enough for 450d case and cosmos ii is a lot bigger than that...

i was coming to the conclusion that the atx standard defines motherboard/cpu power cable length and they were all the same...but perhaps this is not the case...

indeed corsair psus cable lengths are almost identical across range for power cable length..

although this one suggests otherwise for other older models

maybe just need to buy an extension cable

Having read through lots of Dba graphs on techpowerup..i minded towards for the sf leadex 1000.
it has 35Dba at 400-600w which will be my peak.
platinum rating cant hurt..but twice the price.
still over 10 years (never had a psu fail on me)...its neither here nor there.
