I need some advice on a new PSU, I'm not bothered about the price (not over the top in price) as long as it's a good one, a nice quiet running one is a must as I've tried to keep system noise to a minumum.

system details are as follows:

Gigabyte DS4
C2D E6600
4Gig Geil RAM
3 X SATA HDDs
2 DVD burners poss will add a third later
1 FDD
HIS ATI Radeon X1950 256mb
2 x 120mm fans

Any suggestions or experiences what one to avoid or go for.

Thanks

why so many burners ?

I've always had two or three burners as I've found over the years that different media will some times not work in one particular drive and these days dvd burners are as cheap as chips, not like many years ago when I paid £199 for my first HP CD writer :D sounds silly now I know

Second, that. I frequently had 2 burners for this same problem, some old discs I burned would not read in one, but would the other. Not silly. :D

I remember buying a CDRW with a mate for £120 and that was expensive but that is entirely beside the point. :D

I'd suggest a Corsair PSU, the 520w should be sufficient but if you feel the need for a bit of leeway then the 620w is easily capable and comes in at around £100. :)

Go 600W plus if you have any aspirations to a quad core in the future when they get cheaper.

Brand? SeaSonic, so sexy lookin' you'll curl up in bed with it till you fit it :p

thanks all, I'll take a look at the Corsair and the Enermax ones, I would probabley be looking at one of the 600w or slightly over unless anyone could suggest anything different.
