Lo all,

I'm trying to shave a few pounds off my build....

have already purchased..(on TWO last week)
i5-2500k
Gigabyte UD4 B3
Corsair A50 cooler
Asus Xonar sound card

Haven't yet bought:
6950 OR 480 SOC (yet to decide..still)
SSD (probably going for 64gb)
Corsair Xms3 4gb

was going for the Antec True Power 750w but was wondering whether I could get away paying for either 650w or cheaper psu?

I Doubt I'll be going CF/SLI but if you could take that into consideration as well.

Much appreciated. Last bit of decision making then I'm hitting that buy button. Oosh..

Whether or not your overclocking makes a big difference on your systems power draw. If you want to keep the overall system wattage down go for the 6950. From my experience the PSU is one of thge last places you want to scrimp on when putting together a computer. Buy a decent one from a respected brand and factor in some breathing space in your requirements because over time the peak wattage a PSU can suplly goes down slightly (and you may want to put in new components of course)

With my system in my sig, I had a 480 GTX which with Prime and Furmark running I was pulling 615w from the mains, but Furmark stresses the GPU to limit which most games would not do.

I agree with going with the ATI card to keep the wattage lower, but with the Antec 750w you can be safe with either choices.
