Hi all,

It's been about 7 years since I bought a PSU (Zalman ZM500HP 500w Modular). It's only for a HTPC, but I have a lot of drives in there (totalling 6 SATA disks and one SSD). The PSU doesn't seem to comfortable powering all of that.

As it's an HTPC, it needs to be pretty quiet, or fanless, but also I would like to up the power to 750w or higher.

Any recommendations?

Dunno. It just doesn't seem to like that many drives. That and I can't find the second SATA power connector (for the PSU) so the whole PC peripherals are running from the one connector...d'oh

You might be able to find some replacement cables.

In what way doesn't it "like that many drives"? If they're drawing too much current by turning on at the same time you can sometimes set them to stagger spin up.

Dunno, just investigating to see if its something else too. I'd like to find some replacement cables really though if I don't need or decide to buy a new PSU
