Would the 430W Tagan 2Force T430-U22 PSU be enough to run an AM2 system with high end (eventually) graphics card, a maximum of 2 hard drives and 1 DVD-RW?

I can get one for about £45 and it looks good value.

OR

Would you advise something else between £45 and £55?

Ok, cheers guys.

I won't and will never be running 2 cards and i won't be overclocking anything so i'll make do with this then.

It does say the PSU has 'two EMI shielded PCI Express VGA connectors to support power requirements of latest SLI™ Technologies'. Are they kidding themselves?

it depends on the total output of the system.. I maybe be ok but then if you start adding components or use "beefier" components then you are going to run into trouble.

I think they are just trying to make it sound more impressive, it probably would handle 2x7300gt cards or similarly low powered cards if you could link them. For instance though a single X1900XT recommends at least a 400w PSU, maybe even more, but that is partly the manufacturer trying to cover themselves against people who use poor quality PSUs that don't get anywhere near their claimed performance.

Yes you definitely would, it is a good PSU from a reputable manufacturer. I can't say that there is no chance of problems because electrical appliances do sometimes go wrong but provided the PSU is working it will be fine with an X1900XT. :)
