A lot of people on here seem to recommend the Corsair series of PSU's but I would like to know if anybody has had any experience of the Kingwin brand of PSU's.

The one that I am looking at is the Kingwin 700W Modular PSU - 2x 6/8pin PCI-E, 6x SATA but would like to know if anyone is using one of these or has and can let me know what the crack is?

Thanks

I've got no direct experience of using one but from some digging around it seems as if the only truly decent Kingwin models are the 900w, 1000w and 1220w, all three of which can match offerings from most other companies with ease. The lower wattage models (including the 700w you're looking at) are simply very average, with low efficiencies in this day and age and fans that don't adequately cool the power supply.

Not ideal when you'd be paying £75 for the 700w model. I know the Enermax Modu82+ 625w and Corsair hx620w cost a bit more but are of a much higher quality, not to mention they are as powerful as the Kingwin even though rated at a lower wattage.

Ok I think I'll steer clear of that one then. I think that going for anything higher wattage wise is going to be over kill for my system anyway.
