I'm trying to figure out which power supply is best. It's hard to find reviews or a comparison chart for this...

The system I'm building will be: i7 920, 6GB DDR3, Ati 4890 (maybe two?), single 1TB Samsung f1 HDD. What kind of power will I need for this? Will 750Watt suffice? If so, which is the best one around?

I reckon 750W will be more than enough. Check out offerings from Corsair, BeQuiet, PC Power & Cooling or seasonic. Generally the best around.

I'd go for a Hiper PSU. They all seem good, it's only a matter of picking out a model to suit your power requirements. They are all modular as well so you don't have unused cables.

my hiper isnt modular lol

Type M hipers have modular mains power cable lol

only type R modular:D

two.

I would pick the BeQuiet over the Corsair.

+1 for the BeQuiet

Only got good things to say about this psu.
Just built a new i7 pc and this was top of my list.In fact it's the 2nd unit i've bought as i had to leave the first one in my old pc when i sold it.

Not had a single problem on either of them and they are silent in operation even when a good load is placed on em.A doddle to install and being modular much less cable clutter/better airflow etc...
