PSU advice.

Two things to start with.

1. I've checked many PSU calculators and have been given many different answers as to what I should buy. Quite a few say that every GPU need 150W, with no change in Watts when I change to another GPU.

2. Sorry for all the Amazon links. Everything was chosen from there.



So, this is the hardware I'm planning to get with the option of adding another GPU at a later date.

Case;
Corsair CC-9011030-WW Carbide Series Air 540 ATX High Airflow Cube Performance Windowed Computer Case - Black

Motherboard;
MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) Motherbaord (Core i7, Socket LGA2011, Intel X79 ATX RAID, Gigabit, LAN)

CPU;
Intel Core i7 4820K Extreme Quad Core CPU Retail (Socket 2011, 3.70GHz, 10MB, 130W, Unlocked and Unleashed, Hyper-Threadin​g Technology)

Cooler;
Corsair CW-9060016-WW Hydro Series H105 240mm Rad Extreme Performance All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler

RAM;
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600​C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Black

GPU;
Asus GTX 770 Nvidia GeForce DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (PCI Express 3.0, HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D, Display Port, 256 Bit, 3D Vision Ready, GPU Boost 2.0)

2x SATA HDD
1x SSD

There are two PSUs that I've look at getting;

The first being a 750;
Corsair Builder Series CXM 750W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU

If that's not sufficient, then I was going to go for the 850;
Corsair CP-9020056-UK RM Series RM850 80 Plus Gold 850W ATX/EPS Fully Modular Power Supply Unit

Sweet! And thanks! I'll definitely go for the 850, because I plan on adding more ram, a few more SSDs and of course the other GPU.

Is there much of a difference in gaming with them?

I went for the CPU above over this one;
Intel Core i7 4770 Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.40GHz, 8MB, Haswell, 84W, Intel Graphics, BX80646I74770, 4th Generation Intel Core, Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)

I know the socket is different, but I based the board on the socket for the CPU.

Of course the motherboard is one special today! ): aha. I'm building this PC by paying here and there, I'm not rich enough to grab it all today! Should be a 5-6 week venture.

I am going to go with the Haswell though. Seems like it can out do the Ivy Bridge. Also, I don't need any HDD/SSD as I have 3 in the system I'm currently using.

And reading around, isn't 2x8GB RAM slower than 4x4GB? May seen silly, but I'm sure I read that a few times yesterday, aha.
