Hiya, I’m getting a 3090 strix soon. Is my psu enough? It’s a Corsair white rm850x 80 plus gold one. I’ve seen conflicting information online? Thanks

it'll be fine nonetheless stopping short of a highly OC-ed 10900k/11900k

Yes 850w is more than enough for any mainstream CPU, even an OC i9 CPU!

Nvidia recommends 750w for the FE.

If youre not overclocking, I think you should be more than fine.

Perhaps you have read that a high end gpu like the 3090 can cause spikes which in turn can trigger the protection system on the psu. I haven't read that this is a particular issue with Corsair psu so hopefully you will be ok

I'd fit the card, if you experience instability then swop out the psu. No crashes then your sweet. Don't oc as mentioned.

Fit the 3090 and check how many watts your computer is using. Monitor the watts under load. If it goes near 850w then upgrade your PSU.

This applies to any GPU.
