Ok guys, now i'm holding off buying the sandbridge mobo I was going to get untill it all gets sorted out im looking at the other components.

I did do a thread a few weeks ago about a psu but im looking more to future proof now.Price limit has increased after reading about how important psu's are.

Looking to run a GTX 560 0r 570 in sli in the future,(want to overclock everything in stages as i learn) i5 -2500k, a ssd, 2 hdds, lots of fans, this means around a 850w psu.

Now for the same price i can get a -

Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 1000W Modular PSU
or
Corsair 850W HX Modular PSU - 80plus Silver Certified Efficiency

what would be the best psu and why.
thanks.

I'd go for the TX 850, probably the cheapest solid PSU from a great manufacturer that can handle sli 570's!

Hi stulid, you replied to my origional post on psu supplies.
Why are you so sure xfx are so good, Overclockers have stopped selling the 850w one i was going to get, have you any experience with the brand.
Others are complaining about clicking noises.

The build is slowly getting more expensive £1100 at last count.
I don't want to buy a bad psu or be the first one on here to leave feedback on a psu that may be good or bad. if that makes sence.

Hmm, I'd probably go for 850W over 750W if you want to SLI.

750W may cope, but not quite so sure how well it would do...

850HX would be a good choice :)

XFX's PSU's are made by Seasonic, who make Corsairs. They get very good reviews too.

its a shame overclockers have stopped selling the 850w one then.
Are you sure i could get away with a 750w supply runnin 2 GTX560's or 570's.
i do want some redundant power for any other future upgrades or overcloking.
I dont mind going for the more expensive psu's if they are worth it, everyone raves about the HX series, but now i have a new shinny Coolermaster CM-690 II Nvidia Edition Advanced Dominator Case i was still thinking a 850w/1000w coolmaster Silent Pro Modular psu.
i can get the 1000w coolmaster for the same price as the 750w hx.
I of course dom't want to just throw money away.

570 in SLI with some overclocking and i5 -2500k (OCed of course) a 750 W PSU with 732 W 61A of that avaliable on the +12 V output should be fine in normal use opperation like gaming.

The XFX Pro 750W Core Edition is the cheapest I'd recommend.

Antec High Current Gamer 750W (Just added, very good price as good as the HX 750W, Just not Modular)

Corsair HX 750W slighly better, both made by seasonic (as already mentioned)

Corsair Professional Series™ Gold AX750, Re-badge of the seasonic x series, You probably don't need this level of quality, but it's nice, possibly the best you can get (though there is a 2nd gen of x series out now probably not a great deal of difference as it's hard to improve on this)

It's probably a safe bet that any 750W PSU that OC sell with 732 W+ on the +12v will be ok.

Running apps like furmark would be a risk though, if you wanna play with them you probably be better off with an 850 W PSU (840 W, 70 A +12V).

Corsair TX 850W cheapest I'd recommend.

Antec High Current Gamer 900W (850 W on +12V) Very good for the price I'd recommend this above the Corsair HX 850W as it's just as good, slightly more power and £24 cheaper, Just not Modular. (Made by Delta, top OEM)

Corsair TX 950W, Might give you even more options later on for a good price.

Corsair Professional Series™ Gold AX850, Like the 750 W version possible the best, do you need the best when others are more than fine, only you can decide that. :)

In you shoes I think I'd be seriously looking at the Antec High Current Gamer 900W, Only possible down side is not being Modular, but if you going SLI probably not a big issue. (This would run GTX 280 SLI)

Thanks for the feedback guys, the coolmaster range dont seem popular then.
I think its best if I spend the little bit extra and go for a 850w + psu, at least that part of my hurting mind is made up.
