I have a 500W Enermax PSU currently running the following:

AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.7Ghz
4 x 500GB WD HDDs
Audigy Sound Card
DVD-RW Drive
4 120mm Fans

I am about to add a 8800GTX to this... will the power be alright?

The 500W Enermax is at the recommend limit, i.e. +12V = 32A. Therefore considering the number of HDs & fans you have might be pushing it :(

i would have said yes, but with 4 HDDs I'm not sure.

Based on what people ^ have said, I'd say it was worth a go, but that a higher rated PSU would probably be more efficient ;)

corsair 520w
Reading the specs, that has almost an extra 10A on the combined +12V Rail compared to the Enermax.

What I'd recommend to the OP is maybe get the new 8800GTS. Seems to match the GTX performance in some areas BUT consumes less ;)

The 520w has 40A :)
