would an antec truepower new 650w psu power a ati 6970 + i7 950 etc.. alright? and also is the ati 6970 worth the money?

yes it will, with power to spare, it might even manage two in crossfire.

even a bequiet 600w psu would do fine, if you had one?

no its not worth it, a 6950 can be flashed into a 6970.

The psu will be fine, have a look at thr thread below regards flashing the card to a 6970.
