Sigh... Not really having much luck with this system.

After getting a replacement mobo after it was DOA my PSU decided to blow up on me... I turned the power on and suddenly there was a bang and smoking coming out of my PSU.

I hope to god my components are fine. My friend had the same experience but luckly all his components were fine so fingers crossed mine are too...

The PSU I got was a Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular... Pretty damn pricey too.

Taking it to OcUK shop tomorrow to get it replaced but do you think its worth taking my whole system for them to check that my other components are fine? I bought it at the same time as PSU (under 28 Days) and everything is from OcUK...

I wouldn't mind paying a service charge if its reasonable, its better than spending money going back and forth to Stoke seeing as I live nearly an hour away...

Do OcUK accept tests on systems on request?

There is no harm in asking, I would probably do that least it give you confidence that the rest of your components are ok.

Yeah I'm gonna give them a ring before I go tomorrow and ask. It should be fine seeing as literally EVERYTHING is from their shop. Though I hope they don't give me this "we don't want to be responsible for further damaging your system" talk. I just want to know that the rest of the components are still alive :(

Thats what I thought Moothead! When you pay a lot for a component theres usually a reason why it costs a lot :P so hopefully there was some sort of clever way of protecting my components, otherwise I will not be happy!

This system has been nothing but trouble to me D:

I should think parts will be fine i lost my Corsair HX750 other week not as dramatic as your explosion mind whats up with Corsair PSU going kaput lately not good sign. :(
