Imagine that sound really old and slow HDD's used to make when you tried writing onto them....the horrible screechy buzzing sound....

Well my PSU is making a similar, but not as loud, sound to that during cold boot. Lasts about 30-40 seconds and is fine there after. Only started doing it since Saturday and there was no prior movement/ changes to inflict damage/ extra load to the PSU.

Any ideas?
Its a Corsair TX650m and only about 6 months old.

It wouldn't be our old friend coil whine would it? Maybe it's just that during boot something is working at a specific frequency that resonates with the frequency of the switching in the power supply and manifests as something audible. In this case a lower frequency vibration rather than the typical high pitched whine.

I was thinking coil/ capacitor whine, but I always thought that was a high pitched squeal than a low pitch buzzing.

Guess Ill have to keep an eye on it for a while to hear if it gets any worse.
