Installed a GTX 560ti in my system today and for some strange reason my PSU has started buzzing rather loudly while playing games. The noise stops when the game is paused or as soon as i close the window. Literally instantly.

I tried swapping back to my old GPu as maybe its not got enough power for the 560, but its now making the same noise with my old card.

Im too scared to play games lol. Can anyone help?

Ive tried forcing Vsync also.

I dont see how its possible to suddenly break like this, all ive done is install a new card. Was working perfectly fine last night.

Nope, ive taken the PSU out. Blown it, checked for things touching it etc.

And like i say, it starts instantly once a game does, and stops when im at menus or at desktop...

Sure is mate

Thats the problem then, you are trying to draw to much power from a budget PSU that isnt great.

GeForce GTX 560 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.

So you think thats cool I have a 500w PSU right?

unfortunately the Elite 500W PSU is a really cheap one and cant give out its rated power if its anything like its siblings.

Theres a label on the side of the unit showing voltages and Amps, how many does it have on the 12V?
