PSU Cable missing

I just upgraded my graphics card which requires 2pcie 6pin cables, but it appears I only have one. I'm pretty sure I didn't lose it! I think they didn't send me 2 the first time round and I didn't check as I only needed the one. It was 4 years ago but Corsair give you a tidy pouch to prevent these issues.. sigh.

So; its a corsair HX620w, after some digging I don't know too much still other than potentially going through their RMA service, which I can imagine would be potential weeks if they were kind enough to send me an additional cable?

I definitely can't use other branded PCIe cables though right? I have an old spare OCZ one from at least 6 years ago it must be, but, even as the pins line up, theres a chance they might have switched one of the cables internally to the psu?

Or am I screwed into buying a new PSU? Cheers anyone that can help.
 
Buy one of the braided corsair kits for the HX series ;)

Failing that, ask Corsair nicely if you can buy a replacement cable from them, odds are they will send you one free of charge :)
 
If you have a multimeter you might be able to sub one of your OCZ cables in if it's got the same physical connections. Swapping a few wires around would be simple enough. Could be risky though.

I thought most graphics cards came with PCIe to molex adapters anyway ?
Have you checked the box the graphics card came in ?
 
Yes, I got the VTX3d AMD 7950, it only came with crossfire link, hdmi/dvi, hdmi/minihdmi cable and one dvi/vga plug.
Do those adapters I link do the job then you reckon? Desperate not to damage anything ;)
 
Most GPUs do come with the adaptors, I actually got 2 with my 6950 which is strange considering you got none at all.

The adaptors will do fine.
