Hi all,

I am trying to repurpose a PC I've inherited from work and turn it into a console essentially. Whole purpose of it will be to launch Steam in Big Picture Mode and play games on TV in living room.

It has okay hardware for most part but nothing crazy. IIRC its a Ryzen 3900x, Nvidia P4000 & 32gb of DDR4.

My plan is to buy a graphics card to run single player games on 4K TV, so I imagine need something to run at stable 60fps+ (TV is only 60hz).

So couple of questions:
1. PC comes with Antec EAG pro 750w PSU, but of course no additional cables as its been a workhorse at our job and god knows who supplied it. How and where do I find the correct cables for this PSU (2x 6+2 cables) to make sure I dont burn the hell out of the new GPU? Maybe someone done this before.

2. I keep spending a lot of time on the swings of emotions with the choice of GPU. As far as I understand, I dont need the PC to natively output 4k 60fps, as TV will upscale it? So maybe I don't need a high end GPU? On the other hand I would like a good, crisp experience.
I keep looking at 9070XT, as that can be had for £570 right now. But at the same time keep thinking, maybe for £100 less I'll be okay with base 5070?
Maybe someone who uses PC to play on TV can share their experience / setup.

Thank you all in advance.

I believe it has at least 1 cable hard wired (with two connectors?). That'd be enough for something like a 4070. You should be alright with a 9070 non-XT on a single cable too, assuming two connectors.

A 9060 XT 16GB would only need one and they're still way faster than the P4000.

They're Seasonic built PSUs for the EU/UK version (FSP for Asia), but not sure if their cables are compatible with these and they're only part modular.

If it was me, I'd be very reluctant to spend mega money on this project. A 9060 XT 16GB is available for just over £300 and can do native 4K/60 comfortably in the majority of games. ~£450 on a 9070 non-XT is where I'd stop, especially given the cable issues.

Thank you both for suggestions, appreciate it.

Currently there is 1 available plug on the Antec PSU. I've found additional cable online which seems to be for this specific PSU but I really did not want to risk it.
Considering I wanted to move to an Lian Li A3 at a certain point for a smaller footprint, I've decided to buy Lian Li SFX PSU instead.

As well as...9070XT for future proofing. I understand this card is excessive to a degree but I rarely buy GPU`s. I've got GTX1080 in my main rig lol.
And I wanted as best of performance for value in that console PC.

Happy with the setup so far! RDR2 looks amazing on TV.

Thank you.
