PSU Cabling...?

I've just got a Corsair 620W PSU and I'm not sure if one of the 3 braided cables off of it is redundant or not.

The mobo is an Asus P5W64 which has;

1) A 24 pin EATXPWR connector (now connected to the 24 pin PSU cable).
2) An 8 pin EATX12v connector which has a cap so it can be used as 2x4pin (now without the cap and connected to the 8 pin PSU cable.
3) A 4 pin EZ_PLUG connector (not connected to anything).

So, I now have a 4pin PSU cable unattached, but which could go to one of the mobo's 2x4pin, but that would leave the 8pin unattached. An I also have the 4 pin EZ_PLUG on the mobo with nothing plugged into it - should I have.

Many Thanks!
Simon

The EZ-Plug should be a normal Molex socket which should only be connected when you have multiple graphics cards, otherwise leave it unconnected.

You should just plug in the 8 pins 12V+. the other 2*4 can be combined into a second 8 pins 12V+ for dual CPU or workstation mobos.

Apologies - additional query... Does that mean that the 4pin (braided) cable that comes off the PSU (Corsair 620W) is left unattached/unused?

Cheers
