Hi all for the past month or so I've been having some instances weather it be gaming, or just general web browsing my screen to my lg nano cell TV will go black, I've tried new hdmi 2.1 cables as my TV is a 50 inch 4k 120hz TV

My pc spec is as follows

Ryzen 5800x
A Asus x570 VIII hero atx board
MSI gaming trio Rx 6800
64gb of ddr4 running at 3600mhz
And finally the PSU is a 3 year old Corsair tx850m semi modular power supply

I've made sure everything is seated properly

The GPU is installed correctly and made sure the screes are tightened correctly

The reason I'm thinking it's the PSU is I was gaming in the evening about 10pm recently and had the volume quite low and when the screen went black (happens every hour or so and then nothing for the rest of the time) the pc sounded like it was struggling almost like I could hear a stuttering noise coming from the fans and PSU

I've currently locked my GPU to 60hz and this has cut the black screens to the point where it hardly happens or happens maybe once every five or so hours

I've kept the system running pretty much stock other than xmp for the ram, has anyone else had this kind of issue before?

I've got no problem purchasing a new PSU , I checked the temps of the GPU and it is running (60c when gaming)

Thanks for reading and hopefully can get to the bottom of it

You could also massively downclock the card, like try running it locked at half speed, but I do wonder if the refresh @ 4K is causing a problem, since you said it happens even if you're just web browsing. I assume the TV does not have any other inputs?
TV has 2 hdmi 2.1 and two 2.0 inputs. I've tried all the inputs to make sure just incase there is a handshake issue going on

Check your logs.
I once had a problem like this and it turned out the graphics card driver was crashing every so often. Did a clean install of the Nvidia driver and the problem went away

Would that work the same with amd GPU ?

I've seen the odd message from AMDwattman Saying the driver restarted I'm on windows 11 btw I can't recall having this issue with windows 10

I think I'll try a complete driver install for starters, I've got another psu I can put in just to see if that works, I recently got a be quiet system power 10 850w PSU for under £100 so hopefully I can get it all sorted, really hope it's not the GPU as I'm moving onto am5 soon and plan to use the Rx 6800 for at least another year or so

Update

I got in last night after work and my new PSU had arrived I installed it straight away and spent the night and this morning stress testing and gaming

So far all is working great no screen flickering or black screens so I'm guessing my corsair tx850m was the culprit.

My plan is move to am5 and a Ryzen 7900x before the year ends and I'm going to keep the Rx 6800 until the Radeon 8000 series or whatever they name they call it

Hopefully 850w is enough still by then
