Hi, new build using PSu that's in my sig, funny things are happening...

My old comp and laptop when they are connected get a full fat 14mb connection speed from the stats page on my router, however, even if the cat5 lead is unplugged, when I power up the new pc with Corsair PSU, the internet connection disconnects, then re syncs at 10mb with a higher SNR and a few cyclic errors on the stats.

Has anyone had any similar interference with Corsair PSU's or any PSU's for that matter?

Well I swapped out the PSU for an older one, and the problems have gone, so it seems PSU electro magnetic interference can happen, will just rma my Corsair now :S

Well initially they were, but when I suspected the PSU, I moved the PC to another room, on another socket, but left it turned off. Monitored the BB stats page, then switched the PC PSU on.... The router immediately disconnected from the internet, re-synched at 3mb lower. Tried it all over the house and it was doing the same thing, and they were'nt even physically connected. Now that I have an old PSU in there, it's running ok, also, my quad core temps are 2ºc lower at idle???!!!! v.strange

Just RMA it :) it almost sounds as if the PSU is supplying slightly too much voltage, which would also explain the slightly higher temps.

Good luck

Hmm, I've been having download dropouts recently, I just thought BT were being well BT. I'll have to investigate if my HX850 is causing me issues. It's not constant though which is why I thought congestion. Sometimes I'm getting ~6Mbps on speedtest to gateshead, sometimes 1-2Mbps. The Home hub always tells me it's doing 6+Mbps though and the dropouts seem to be mostly during the evening when I'd expect congestion or capping (although not condone it).

I never had any similar issues with my HX620, but that's seasonic, the HX850 is Channel well.

Thing is I love my HX850 so much, I'd rather go cable to fix the issue than replace the PSU :p
