to cut a long story short ive had no end of problems with my new build - its just not stable at all. random hangs on start up (when graphics card fan controller kicks in) and general sloppyness during sessions - the build is listed below:

Intel P43 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.53GHz (1066FSB)
Xpert Vision 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Antec TruePower Trio 430W PSU
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7200S 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
XP MCE 2005

to start from they begining - i thought i had a gippy graphics card - i had no end of problems trying to install the drivers (about 10 hours of random black screens and blinking cursors) i tested the graphics card in another machine - worked fine.

i then spoke to OCUK - they swapped the board - the drivers then went on with a little effort.

having reinstalled the thing 3 times from scratch and still experiancing these hangs i've tested the Memory and hard drive.

by rules of deduction the only thing i havent tested is the PSU. is it feasable this could cause this instability?

any questions / more info - just ask :)

thanks for your help.

Gary

PSU can course problems, my uncle had a problem with his machine, tried new memory and motherboard (PC was still under warranty) and kept crashing and being laggy. Swoped PSU and it worked fine.
