PSU causing this or not?

Hi all,

I've got an E8500 E0 stepping CPU in an Asus Maximus II mobo, Freezer 7 pro cooler. I'm running the chip at 9.5 x 425 1.225v and it runs Orthos stable for many hours. If I try and up the CPU any more the PSU overtemps before anything else. I'm running a 500w Zelman PSU. It gets to about 52C before I call off the dogs.
Am I right in thinking that a more powerful PSU would resolve my temp issues?

A silly question, I know...

Thanks
Natty

How are you reading the PSU temp? 500w should be more than enough providing you don't have dual gpu's. The rig in my siggy with a pair of Sata ll hdds' sata dvdrw, Zalman ZM-MFC2 multifunction fan controller and 5x 120mm fans only draws 274w at the wall while running Orthos and Fur stability test at the same time. What case do you have and what cooling in it?

my spec in sig with gfx card @ 1.4v, 5x120mm fans, 2x92mm fans, 18w pump, fancontroller, 2 sets of cathodes on a 620w PSU

sure 500w will be plenty for you
