Okay guys I need a reccomendation for a Power Supply for this computer.

E6300 C2Duo
7900GTO 512 Meg
MSI Neo 12 (I think that's the exact name of it)
2X Geil PC5400 1gb
1 DVD-RW

I was thinking 460w or 500w to be on the safe side?

Then I'd suggest an FSP Bluestorm 500w, an OCZ Modstream 520w(modular) or an Antec Paxpower 500w, they are all a couple of pounds over £55 but I think worth it because you are buying PSUs of a decent quality, it isn't an area you should skimp on. :)

Cheers, decided on a AKASA 500w, good make I hear. :] (Parents being a bit tight, 55 was really the max :|)

Ordering next week now, looking forward to it :D

I have a similar question. I've been running the following kit off of a Antec 380W PSU from an Antec Sonata:

3Ghz Northwood P4 on Asus P4C800E-Dlx
2 GB PC3200 RAM
X800XT gfx
Terratec DMX6Fire s/card
3 SATA drives
2 Optical drives
1 floppy
Zalman Flower

I take it, that's probably my limit for this PSU. But, I am now being forced to upgrade because of a mobo failure. If I purchase the following kit, would I also need to look at a new (500W ish) PSU too??

E6300 / E6600 Core 2 Duo
Gigabyte DS4 mobo
2 GB PC6400
7600 / 7800 / X1900 / X1950 gfx
..and the rest remains the same

Cheers

The Antec is a good PSU but I'd almost certainly suggest a PSU upgrade there because the graphics cards will be more power hungry and there is also a good chance with the parts chosen you will be overclocking(otherwise little point in getting PC6400/DS4) so a new PSU is a very good idea there. :)
