Hi,

I currently have a Be Quiet 550w Dark Power Pro which I have had now for a few years. It had been running my system fine until tonight. At the weekend, I upgraded to a 970 GTX from a GTX 670. I've started playing the Witcher 3 tonight and the machine has routinely switched off after around 10 minutes of play. It doesn't seem to do this in Diablo III but it's probably not quite as taxing.

The spec is as follows:

X5650 @ 4Ghz
Gigabyte EX UD5
12Gb DDr2
970 GTX
1SSD + 2 7200 Rpm Hard Drives

Am I reaching the limits for that particular PSU or does it sound like it's on the way out?

Thanks.

The power consumption of those two cards are not a million miles apart.

I would have only suggested a 550W PSU if you were buying new anyway.

Check other things such as temps/connectors/fresh install.

Also try tests like Unigen Heaven/valley or 3Dmark.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I've done a clean install this weekend and so far, I've not had any issues. I also checked the settings on my CPU overclock as I was getting blue screens after running the Heaven benchmark which weren't there when I tested it at the stock speeds.
