psu choice (modular)

I fancy a new PSU, preferably a modular one as my case is going to be a little cluttered and I can't afford to have wires that aren't being used in there.

will need connectors for

mobo - currently dfi nf4 ut but probably be a conroe board very shortly
x1900xt
2 x optical drives
1 x ide hdd
4 x sata hdd
1 x molex for fan controller
1 x molex for prommie

Will be oc'ing heavily

I liked the look of the modular tagan 580w but it doesn't have enough connectors so I guess I will need to use splitters?

Are there any with loads of connectors or better priced?

Given the amount of gear in there, should I forget the modular route?

Current PSU is enermax 460w 28a on 12v

Most effective way is if your case allows you to hide cables use that with some cable ties :cool:

The 580w Tagan (non-modular) has about 8 HDD molex connectors :eek: Might need to get a-few splitters, though recommend a beefier PSU considering the X1900XT in there :)

The Case is the issue now really. I bought the prom with the aim getting rid of one of my pc's. The easiest way would be to use my pc60 case and cut a hole in the bottom. But it's cramped as it is.
The other case is a pc70 which is huge but will require some modding as I doubt the prom will fit underneath and reach the cpu socket.

Can't really afford a new (decent) case as after just buying the prom, I am also looking at a new cpu, mobo, ram and psu although I do have some decent stuff to sell.

What size psu do you recommend if the 580w is innadequate. My enermax has been fine with a 3500 @ 2.6, 1.55v, 1 optical, 1 sata and the x1900xt.
 
I suppose the other option, if I use the pc70, is to use 2 psu's as I have 2 of the enermax's. I guess one for all the mobo connections and one for the drives and x1900xt. May be a better solution as i want to add a watercooling loop for the x1900xt and NB later on.

How do it wire them so they both come on when the power button is pressed?
 
ok, it's up to 521w with 4 hdd and say a 3800x2 at 3 gig and 1.7v which is a potential intermediate upgrade for me.

So really a 600w+

I could get down to 3 hdd's but it doesn't know much off.
