I have an Antec Truepower 750w which must be 4 years old or thereabouts. I purchased a GTX 780 and heard the familiar coil whine screeching. At first I thought it was the GPU so I put my GTX 770 back in and same whine albeit not as loud. Probably due to the different power draws each card does.
As I game with headphones on I am not sure when this started but it doesnt look good.
So my dilema is do I try and fix the psu coil whine with the hot glue method and save me some cash or do I purchase a new PSU.
Looking on OCUK there seem to be a plethora of 750w/800w PSU's around the £80-£90 mark but I am a bit out of touch on what would be good for the GTX 780 and also have some kind of coil whine protection ?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
