PSU died, time to overhaul PC?

I have a 4770k, vega 64 nitro, 16gb ddr4 ram however my PSU has died, I have ordered a new PSU but whilst I am in the case do you think it's worth removing CPU and applying new paste, I intend to give pc a good clean inside as it's probably 6 years old.

No harm i guess but may make little difference. Assume psu didn't have a 7 year warranty?

Yes. Thermal paste does tend to dry out over time, but only if you intend to carry on using the 4770K.

PSU just died. no bang or smoke. PSU is several years old, I think it's a seasonic I know not much help lol, it was a half decent PSU at the time.
Can anyone recommend a thermal paste? I am selling the pc to my brother so wanted to give it a service.

Had a look at my previous orders and I think I have found the PSU, ordered in 2018, came with 10 year warranty. I will have to double check it's the correct psu as I don't remember changing it in 2018

I remember having a SilverStone Zeus. Think it was the ST75ZF 750W from looking it up. It went with a nice fire cracker bang one night with a lovely odour of gun caps. It never took anything else with it but I had to quickly switch it off whatever went wrong with it. I think I had it from 2006/7 until 2013/14.

Unless you're referring to the GPU memory, it will be DDR3 memory in your system (not DDR4). If you're going to be upgrading, that ram isn't going to carry into a current gen system.

Liquid metal is highly conductive but one mistake can lead to electrical short , I prefer thermal paste.
