hey,

Ive been running my pc for a few months now since my last upgrade. Today my computer shut down for no reason and wouldn't boot at all. The lights inside come on but when i press power it just flashes on then boots down.

Post code is 8.2 (Motherboard Abit ab9 pro)

This is "Enable ATX power supply".

Has my PSU (Corsair CX600) blown, i only bought the thing a few months back and was my latest upgrade.

Thanks in advanced

Do you have the option to test the psu in another system?

On your system were you overcloked at all, try doing a CMOS reset and try with only one memory module.

Try re-seating everything. Is the 8 pin at the top of your motherboard connected?
Does it get to the POST screen and into windows at all?

do you know how to 'jump start' a psu? with nothing attached other than a fan connected via molex? might be a way of seeing if there is any power coming from it. or better still do you have access to a multi-meter?

tried jump starting it with a paper clip, Fan spun for a second and shut off and is now making a strange buzzing noise.

Buzzing noise contiunes even after the psu has been unplugged
