Hi guys just home from work, last day before Christmas, yay!
Not so yay is...
I got home and went to turn my computer on. Nothing.
I tried a different kettle lead I know working, still nothing.
My PSU is a fanless Silverstone model and it has 2 status LEDS on the back, one to indicate the temp, the other to indicate the power status. I noticed when I took a closer look that they were flashing on and off every 2 seconds when they are supposed to be lit steadily.
Figuring that my PSU had died, I got my Antec TruePower 330 out and connected the 20pin and 4pin connector to the motherboard. I hooked up the kettle lead, and hit the power switch.
Everything came on as normal, but about 5 second later, I get a wonderfull *BANG* and *CRACK* from the Antec, a terrible smell, and all goes dead.
So it seems my computer has blown up 2 power supplies today, one while I was out (even though the computer was switched off) and the other just now.
As I said, my PC has been switched off all day, and had been working perfectly normally this morning before I went to work.
I don't have anymore PSUs to try, and from the current trend I am reluctant to try another since it seems they are all blowing up.
What could be the matter?
Thanks,
Michael.
