PSU Extension Cables

Hi,

I am finishing my friends build and I have noticed all his PSU cables can be re-routed round the back of the case and still fit into the slots nicely except for the 4+4pin CPU Power cable.

I was looking on eBay for extension cables and I need someone to confirm this is the correct item:

I was also thinking about getting extensions for the PCI-e GPU as I could reroute them better too. Is the correct cables for them just "6+2 pin extensions"?

Yes, that's the correct cable and yes, they're called "6+2 pin extensions"

Or it may be that you could flip the psu and the cable would reach.

Or check PSU manufacturer's site.
Some offer spare cables and they can be in different length.

Yes if I flipped the PSU (facing down) then it might reach but it looks quite ugly like that with all the manufacture details along the side.

You can use a colored tape to cover side of PSU or paint it.
I've seen a lot of people do that.

Sorry for that..

Am I right in saying a 8 pin extension that would be used for the CPU Power can also be used for 8 pin PCIe into my XFX R9 280X (and then just buy a 6 pin for the second slot)?

I have basically ordered:

2 x 8 Pin Extension (1 for CPU power and 1 for GPU)
1 x 6 Pin Extension (for the other part in the GPU)

Damn!

I just spoke to the seller and apparently the 8 Pin extension I bought only works for the GPU card and they said I need a 8 Pin ATX CPU extension instead for the CPU Power

So I actually needed: 1 x 8 Pin ATX CPU Extension, 1 x 8 Pin PCIe Extension and 1 x 6 Pin PCIe Extension...

They looked so alike on the website aswell. Problem sorted anyway.
