PSU Facing Up or Down

Hi,

I have always had my PSU (Corsair GS600 Gaming PSU) facing up the way so it drags heat out of my computer and out of the back.. but mainly cause it has blue led fans and looks boss.

However I see most people saying put your PSU facing down the way.

What is the best way to have this and what is the advantages/disadvantages?

Ah so does the PSU fan work by cooling only itself? I assumed if you face it up it would drag any hot air that my GPU fires out and throw it out the back :S
