Quick question.. Im building a new machine with a 700w OCZ PSU - should the fan face upwards or downwards? :) I've put it facing down (its fitted in the top of the case), but will change it if its facing the wrong way..

Personal preference. Some people have it pulling air from in the case, some have it pulling air from outside. Aslong as it can breathe it doesn't really matter.

Depends on the case in question, many Antec cases state in the FAQ's that the psu fan should be facing up.

In my lian li a70f i have the psu fan facing down, the case has grooves cut in the floor and the psu sits on raised rails to allow for air intake. Also when mounted with the fan down, it makes hiding the cables a lot easier.

When mounted at the top of the case I think facing down is the more ideal way - it's like having a roof fan.

As somebody said, it's a personal opinion. I had my corsair facing up (sucking the air out), but while I was doing some modification in my antec 300 I decided to put it so it's facing down. In my opinion, it didnt make much difference in temperatures, but the case looks so much nicer and tidy!

I have mine facing up in my antec 300 aswell although there is enough clearance underneath for it to still get enough air. Also helps to remove heat from gpu's with it facing up. Its handy if you havent got a roof exaust in your system.

Mine is definately facing down next time i rebuild. Dropped a screw in my HX750 the other month and it was a right PITA to get it out, if the fan faces down no chance of this ever happening again.

+1

I did the same with my Antec 900.
