PSU (fan) orientation

I have just got my lovely Superflower Platinum 1000w PSU (amazing thing - I love it!) and due to its extra size compared to my previous OCZ 500w, has presented a question...

Being whether or not it is best to have the fan facing the inside of the case (Lian Li V354) or have it facing the side of the case - I understand most PSU's intake from the large fan rather than exhaust (i.e. into the case).

My GTX 480 sits very close to the psu and therefore I am concerned any heat from it, may cause the PSU to run hotter than necessary.

So what would be best - fan facing inside of case or fan facing side of case?
 
Facing Down-
Fan facing down as it will draw in cooler air from the out side, the inside of your case is always warmer due to components also depending on how good your case air flow is.
 
Air flow isnt too bad I think and thats one of the things I am trying to keep my some careful routing of the cables so they dont block too much air path underneath the HD cage.

Here's a picture of a V354 case should it help anyone - I only have the upper HD cage in place;

Hi again, In most case's if the fan is facing down they usually have a vent, yours looks like its facing the side panel.

I take it the side panel has not got a vent?

would have thought it would have a vent in the side panel for the PSU thus getting cooler air from the outside.

No there is no vent in the side panels at all, thats why I'm not sure which is the better of the 2 evils!

Yes, see what you mean, what way do they recommend putting the case fans 1 pulling air in and one exhaust, what size are the fans?
 
Not sure what Lian say tbh, I'll have to check out the manual.

The fans on the front are 120mm, the top of the case can take a 140mm.
 
I'd rather not drill the case as that seems a little unnecessary maybe - 2 120mm fans and 140mm to pull it through should be sufficient I thought.
 
Hi again, stock fans 1x140mm 2x120mm see how hot things get, you can always add a extra fan to the rear set to exhaust.
