MY SPEC:

AMD FX 8320 CPU
GTX 670 2gb zotac GPU
8gb ram
500gb internal hard drive
cd/dvd r-w rom drive
3 x 80mm fans
450w XFX PSU

My PSU makes a clicking sound when I've maxed out graphics settings on a game. is it because my PSU ain't big enough? or is it faulty?

I added the CPU/GPU to my system at a later date and thought the PSU would have enough power for it altho when checking the box of the GPU it states it needs minimum 500w PSU.

any help would be great thanks.

It does sound like you are loading it have a look at this as it will give you a rough idea of your power requirements and IMO you only want to be operating your PSU at around 60% to 70%

And as said above I think you need to be looking at around 600w

Have you got any over clock on the 8320 ? this will also add to your power requirements.

No overclock on anything. so having listened to all your comments is it safe to say i need a more powerful psu? If so has my 450w psu become damaged? and could it have damaged any other components? Having turned down the graphics settings on my game theres no clicking noise and my pc works completely fine as it should. thanks for your help
