PSU Flavour of the month

Corsair have been quite well regarded for a while. Other than that it is hard to go wrong with Seasonic (who are the OEM for the Corsair HX series), Enermax and PC Power & Cooling.

I've got a Corsair HX520 and I'm more than happy with it. My brother however has just bought a Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 550W modular psu and the quality of it has to be seen to be believed. I've a feeling they'll catch on in a big way and I'm gonna try one for my next upgrade.:)

I agree. People should try something different, rather than always recommending corsair.

Very happy with my Coolmaster Real Power 620W. The Corsair 620W modular (that replaced the dead Hyper 580W) is doing fine in my old rig.

It depends, if you want something that just works then you are normally as well to go for a tried and tested solution, along similar lines to "no one ever got fired for buying IBM". If it is just for me then yes I might well go for something a bit different to see what it is like, that doesn't mean I'd choose to recommend it for others though.

Another vote for Corsair - splendid psu and very quiet! They also sent me additional modular pci-e cables all the way from the states for free :D

Doesn't the fact I left the Corsair in my old rig (in hands of better half) tell you anything? ;)

In all seriousness though, cannot fault either of them!

Ask for a PSU here and it's guaranteed that Corsair will be recommended by most people. It gets a bit boring over time. I personally had bad experience with them. I can highly recommend PC Power Cooling, the quality is fantastic, before I bought it I was a bit sceptical because I kept hearing that it was not very quiet, took the plunge and it's as quiet as my old Seasonic S12 500 which is the most quiet PSU ever made and this is even under full load for a few hours. It's expensive for a reason! And yes, it's quite a sight with the deep red color.
