Hi All,
Thinking about adding a second 770 for SLI and wondered what PSU wattage I would need. Running the following:
4770k
Z87X-OC
8GB Team Skill RAM
770 GTX
1TB 7200 HDD
128GB SSD
XSPC WC kit

All of this is on a Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 700W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply.

Should I aim for a 1000W PSU?

Hi, see sig using 1000w but if your over clocking both CPU+GPU's see sig they say at least a 850w.

But pre fur to have that bit extra in reserve and Gold rated as well as they have a more consistent 12v rails and amps and better efficiency.

Have heard good reports about their PSU's > Silverstone Strider Gold Evolution 1000w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (ST1000-G) £128[ this weeks deals]

Ignore the wattage on the side of the psu. That's the total wattage and a lot of psu's make it up on the minor rails. Your 700w Coolermaster is a prime example as it can only deliver 600w on the all important 12v rail. Find a psu that you are interested in and then look here to see what it can actually deliver. The site is regularly updated and has details such as who the OEM is, power on the 12v rail, single or multiple 12v rails, plus links to reviews.

alternatively, this:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic G series 750w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £99.95
Total : £109.55 (includes shipping : £8.00).

if you dont want to spend over 100 quid

Awesome thanks all. Will check that site out for the ratings, will probably head for a 1000W to give me room in the future.
Liking the look of the Corsair RM Series RM 1000 '80+ Gold' 1000W Power Supply, will check out the reviews though!

you dont need 1000w
750 will be fine if not overclocking annd 850 if overclocking
a decent brand though like silverstone/seasonic/antec/superflower/bequiet

Spec in sig with overclocked 670's in sli drew 586w max when running 3dm 11/firestrike, (total system incl 24" monitor). A decent branded 750w should be fine with sli 770's. However a good 1000w unit will allow you more headroom for later upgrades.

Ok thanks, Think I might go with the higher wattage one as it gives me more options later on (say adding a third card/more power hungry stuff!)
