PSU for 8800GTX?

At the moment I have an antec 480, would this power a GTX? I am hopefully finishing uni in April and may get myself a finishing gift .

System is:

E6300@3ghz
2*512mb ram
2*320gb sata
1*160gb drive
1*DVDRW
Audigy 2

Minimum I would be looking at with your rig would be 600 Watts.

Well in January I'll update my 480 to an 800 Tagan and get another 1gb of ram instead of two. I'm leaving vista for a while until compatability's sorted.

This one? There is another older less powerful model.

If it is, then it can supply up to 33A/396w combined 12v current/wattage. Which isn't bad tbh. Mine is running quite happily on the same power range.

It should be fine, you don't need to upgrade your PSU.

personally i'd invest in the RAM your after before PSU

pretty much designed with "next gen" in mind

I have no problems with a similar rig and an Enermax 500w (32A/384w combined). The psu doesn't get hot, and the fan speed stays low.

That's being upgraded anyway - when I moved from my 64 3700/2gb geil I could only afford 1gb of the new geil as it was £90. I'll be picking another gig up before jan.

quality and amperage is more important than wattage 99% of the time.
