Hi everyone,

I am considering the Gigabyte RTX 4090 OC. Gigabyte recommended a 1000w PSU for this card: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N4090GAMING-OC-24GD/sp#sp

However, only 850w is recommended for the FE and also the MSI Gaming Trio, although I know other AIBs also recommend 1000w. Given the very mild OC on this card and that I would only run it at stock, would my Seasonic Focus GX 850 (Gold) be sufficient? My current CPU is a 5800X3D.

Will happily upgrade the PSU if required, just wanted to get peoples thoughts/advice first though.

Thank you :)

I would just give it a go and see how it runs. The 5800X3D during gaming especially with the -30 offset is pretty low compared to other high end alternatives, so I would imagine there's enough headroom for the 4090.

I've ordered a 4090 and I'm expecting it to be fine with a 125w cpu and a similar PSU. Might find out tomorrow if it turns up. My complete system power draw with a 3090 tops out at 550w while gaming with the GPU doing 350w.
